It's been 30 years since his death and legendary rocker John Lennon is still watching the wheels. The wheels on the John Lennon Educational Bus go around city to city providing students with the opportunity to write, record, and make a music video. A dream comes true for Bellaire brothers Travis and Rustien Merriweather.
The twin brothers, who are students at University of Texas San Antonio, formed their own band Atlantis. They were referred to the Lennon bus by their teacher. Travis, a vocalist and bass guitar player, and Rustien a rapper and classically trained piano player, recorded an original song using state of the art equipment all provided by the Lennon bus.
The brothers also received some advice from a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bootzilla baby! Funk pioneer Bootsy Collins sat in on the Merriweather brothers recording session and stressed the importance of marrying technology and the ability to play instruments.
The Merriweather's also got to take a step in Bootsy’s boots by being introduced to fans during his concert.
