HOUSTON, TX—70,000 fanatics swarmed Reliant Stadium to bang drums, blow vuvuzelas, and scream at the top of their lungs for their favorite teams in this year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals.
In a football crazed city, soccer was king with many of the fans rooting for the USA or Mexico. The semifinals matches gave fans a rare opportunity to see some of the best players in the international game.
“This is going to bring us to the Confederation Cup. We’re going to take on the best in the world. We are #1,” said USA fan Grant Caddell.
With all the energy outside the stadium, inside Reliant was, well, electric. Very fitting for the energy capital! The U.S. will now face Mexico in the finals for the Gold Cup.
