Students at Green Valley Elementary School sent a letter to the Harlem Globetrotters and on Tuesday, star dribbler Blenda Rodriguez bounced-in to show the students some tricks, and a lesson on dreaming big.
Part of the presentation honored 9 year old Jalen Howray, an autistic student who loves basketball and has a knack for twirling the ball on his thumb.
“He was amazing, he touches my heart, he spins a basketball like no one spins a basketball before,” said Rodriguez.
“I'm the happiest Dad in the world right now,” said Jalen’s father, after his son was named an honorary Goodwill Ambassador for the Globetrotters.
Jalen also got a basketball and tickets to see the squad perform at the Toyota Center later this month.
