The 911 call Florida A&M band members made from their bus after fellow band member and drum major Robert Champion stopped breathing has been released.
Officials haven't said what caused his death, but they do suspect hazing.
Four FAMU students were expelled this week after Champion's death last month.
Longtime Band Director Julian White was fired, but not before dismissing 26 band members. He says he did all he could to get rid of hazing.
Jerimi Franklin is the head drum major at Texas Southern University.
He says the hazing at his school never escalated to the point of being deadly, but the incidents at Florida A&M do bring things into perspective.
"They're the most popular HBCU marching band so it`s like putting a scope on all the historically black band programs and I think it`s a big wake up call," Franklin said
Seems like a horrible price to pay just to fit in.
