NEW YORK, NY—
Police in New York say they have a suspect in custody in a decades old missing child case.
Etan Patz disappeared in 1979 as he walked from his Manhattan home to the school bus.
Police say Pedro Hernandez of Maple Shade, New Jersey, has confessed to strangling the 6 year-old boy, wrapping his body in a bag and putting it in a box.
Some investigators, however, are skeptical that his confession could close one of the country's most gripping missing-child cases.
Ironically, this bombshell comes just one day before May 25th--National Missing Children's Day--the last day Etan Patz was seen alive.
