Food vendors enjoyed friendly competition as Houston celebrity judges cleaned plates at the second annual Gold Buckle Foodie Awards.

Two new categories of Most Creative Food and Best New Flavor were added to the awards this year. More than 100 mouth-watering entries from 12 different categories were distributed to every table of judges, and each one looked more delicious than the last. Big hits this year included Stubby's Cinnamon Rolls and Sudie's Catfish House – both took home wins in multiple categories.

The competition came down to the last savory bite, and two vendors received a perfect score on their products. Harlon's Bar-B-Que's baked potato, and Granny's Cheesecake's chocolate dipped strawberries each overwhelmed their respective categories of Best Baked Potato and Best Food-on-a-Stick.

The crowd favorite was unanimously Best Dessert.

"It feels wonderful to win, it's great to have a blue ribbon next to your food especially with such good competition," said Lee Morales, representative for Best Dessert Winner Crown Cinnamon Rolls.
