September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and like how breast cancer awareness uses a pink ribbon, ovarian cancer uses a teal ribbon.
Memorial City Mall is helping the cause with their annual, "Paint the Town Teal" campaign, started by one-time assistant manager, Marion Birch, after she was diagnosed with the disease.
Ovarion cancer claims the lives of more than 15,000 people per year and 75% of cases aren't diagnosed until an advanced stage of the disease.
Inspired by people like Marion, many groups wear teal to support the cause, and organizations like "Teal Toes" encourage other ways to sport teal.
Unlike pink, teal is a bit more gender friendly! So guys, no excuses on this one!
