A 61-year-old Army veteran, Michael Nash of Louisville, is suing a Kentucky VA hospital for $10 million, claiming that the excessive ice pack treatment he received on his groin after surgery caused frostbite and then gangrene... ending with his penis getting amputated.
The retired serviceman is seeking compensation from the Federal Government for complications after a routine penile implant and circumcision went wrong. The vet claims a nurse applied freezer packs to his postoperative penis, constantly icing the vet's privates down for a numbing 19 hours.
Five inches of the gangrened penis had to be amputated. Nash awaits his day in court.
