MCKINNEY, TX—Wheeling the statue his wife claimed was used to assault her, Deion Sanders left a Collin County court room, expressing relief that one ruling was behind him.
"God is good," said the former NFL football star.
"He is pleased," Rick Robertson said.
Earlier during four hours on the stand, Deion Sanders testified that he picked up his screaming up and removed her from his bedroom when she burst in looking for their son. He told a judge that she kicked heavy statue and it fell, injuring her hand.
But, later Pilar took the stand and told a different stoy. She testified that when she went to find her 10-year old son who she hadn't seen in days Sanders choked, hit and threw her. She secretly recorded the fight and screams could be heard. She was arrested following the incident, but cleared by the judge. Her attorney too claimed victory.
"She is vindicated of the false charges," Larry Friedman, said.
Attoneys say now the proceedings will turn to child custody. Deion Sanders has accused his wife of being abusive toward the children. He claims one boy is afraid of his mother. She says Sanders is an absentee father, who pressures the boys to succeed in sports.
There is another hearing scheduled on May 15th.
