Today Texas' former quarterback Colt McCoy was awarded the Davey O'Brien Quarterback award. A national award where he will be added to a list of greats like Troy Aikman and Steve Young. McCoy led the Texas Longhorns to a 13 - 1 record, Big 12 Conference Championship and No. 2 BCS ranking this season, as well as a BCS National Championship appearance against Alabama. He currently holds 47 school records. Colt through for 13,253 yards 112 touchdowns and has a 70% completion percentage. He is also the first Longhorn to pass for more than 10,000 yards and is the all time winningest quarterback in NCAA history leading his team to four 10-win seasons. He beat out finalists Tim Tebow and Case Keenum for this prestigious honor which recognizes not only accomplishment on the field but off the field as well.
