I moved to North Texas from Northern California, so I am well aware of Sonoma. It is a city I can find on the map and I even know how to get there. (Believe me, that's something!) But for me, Sonoma is far more synonymous with wine drinking than car racing, which I understand might be a mortal sin here in The Lone Star State. Forgive me; I'll work on it.
ANYWAY, today, I officially said goodbye to the racetrack formerly known as "Sears Point" and covered my first TMS (abbreviations are for cool people) "event". It was a Daytona 500 watch party.
Without question, North Texans love their cars, racing and car racing.. and despite the weak economy will do what it takes to get to the track this season, even if it means cutting back other ways. That's a sport I can get behind. Is there a wine bar at TMS?
