Seattle Seahawks left tackle Walter Jones, attempting to play one month after knee surgery, was inactive for Sunday's game against San Francisco.

Jones practiced extensively Friday, and Seahawks coach Jim Mora Jr. was hopeful the nine-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman would be able to play against the 49ers. But he was one of eight players on Seattle's inactive list. Jones had microfracture surgery on his left knee last winter and missed the final four games of the 2008 season, before having a second surgery last month.

For San Francisco, wide receiver Brandon Jones was inactive after returning to practice this week after breaking his shoulder early in training camp.
