Maryland SPCA celebrates new White Marsh adoption center

A group of about 40 people gathered Saturday for the Maryland SPCA’s ribbon cutting and grand opening of Project Adopt at White Marsh Mall. The society’s off-site adoption center is open on the upper level next to JC Penney’s, and offers cats and kittens for adoption. Project Adopt’s hours are Friday and Saturday, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the end of the year. “We’re hoping to get a good reception from the community,” said Aileen Gabbey, executive director. “The Maryland SPCA does not receive any operating funding from the government or the ASPCA.
