W. Dennis Guinan Sr., 78, of Allentown, Pa., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his home.
He was the husband of Lois J. (Mantz) Guinan. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage on July 1.
He was of the Catholic faith and had attended Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va.
He was employed by Mack Trucks for 39 years, retiring as vice president of human resources at the company headquarters in Allentown. He began his career with Mack Trucks in Plainfield, N.J., then moved to Hagerstown, Md., where he helped open the facility, then concluded his career in Allentown.
He was a former member of Brookside Country Club, achieved Eagle Scout, was awarded the Order of the Arrow and participated in the Mack Golf League.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Dennis Jr. and his wife, Melanie, of Charlottesville, Va., Susan E. Huber and her husband, Steven, of Hagerstown, Richard S. of Whitehall, Pa., Cathleen M. Van Antwerp and her husband, Mark, of Seattle, Wash., and Jamie S. and his wife, Karen Mungal, of Shrewsbury, Md.; grandchildren, Erin Kenney, Matthew Huber, Richard, Caitlin, Abigail, Nia and Sam Guinan, and Penelope and Alexander Van Antwerp; siblings, Harry Guinan of Marietta, Ga., and Eileen Scarinci of Scotch Plains, N.J.; stepmother, Blanche Guinan of Palm Beach, Fla.; and stepsiblings, Dr. Eva Guinan of Massachusetts and Gunnar Guinan of California.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
