The foundation appointed six new directors and a new president, vice president and secretary.
The foundation welcomed several local business leaders and community advocates to the board, including John Flannery, owner of Flannery's Tavern on the Square and John Allison Public House; Mary-Anne Gordon, executive director of Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce; Whooper Bendell, owner of Thompson Oil Co.; Julie Barthalow, branch sales manager of Tower Bank of Mercersburg; Nic Erickson, network administrator of the Waynesboro Area School District; and Lisa Ambrisco, regional manager of First National Bank of Mercersburg.
In addition to appointing new board members, the foundation also has a new chairman. Chris Ardinger will take the reigns as the organization's president and chief executive officer.
Ardinger has been on the board for two years and is a public administration major at Shippensburg (Pa.) University.
Aaron Trusky will serve as the new vice president, and Barthalow will serve as secretary.
Trusky has been on the board for three years, and is the chief information officer for the school district.
