Pearl Virginia Koontz, 83, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at Ravenwood Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 13, 1928, in Downsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Resley Ellsworth and Mary Elizabeth Williams Speaker.
She worked as a cook for various restaurants in the Washington, D.C., area.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Thomas and Brenda J. Jackson, both of Hagerstown; six sisters, Eleanor Frazee of Hagerstown, Josephine Ardinger of Boonsboro, Ruby Hornbaker and Lorraine Hornbaker, both of Clear Spring, Helen Milburn of Keedysville and Nancy Miller of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald Speaker of New York and Wilbur Speaker of North Dakota; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Catherine Speaker and Fern Kline; and four brothers, Elmer, Ray, Resley and Howard Speaker.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, with the Rev. Dan Fraley officiating.
Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so Monday, July 2, 2012, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport.
