Local students attend Rotary leadership camp

The Rotary Club of Long Meadows sponsored three local students to participate in leadership camp called Rotary Young Leader Awards.

The three students are Kirstie Coombs, North Hagerstown High School; Tristan Prejean, Heritage Academy; and Michael Bramson, St. Maria Goretti High School.

The program teaches the attendees various leadership skills based on the ethical standards of Rotary International. The camp was held June 10 to 13 at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa., and was attended by more than 60 high school students from the Tri-State area.

Rotary International organizes several programs for young people. Through the programs, youths can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges or help a community through a service project.
