Born March 21, 1945, in Fairplay, Md., he was the son of the late Glenn R. and Evelyn G. Moats Brechbill. He was the husband of Susan L. (McAfee) Brechbill of Hagerstown.
He retired from Furman Builders and Construction Co.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by three daughters, Diana and Charles Thomas, Linda and Lawrence Thomas, and Pamela Ashkettle, all of Hagerstown; five sisters, Betty D. Baird, Shirley G. Purnell, Judy E. Lundquis, Julie L. Poe and Debbie K. Long; three brothers, Robert G. Brechbill of Hagerstown, and Michael S. Brechbill and John J. Brechbill of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four granddaughters, Jamie and James Campbell of West Virginia, Cassie and Ryan Acre of Hagerstown, Amanda and Mathew Seiders of Pennsylvania, and Megan Preston of Hagerstown; four great-grandchildren, Kaliyah and Aliviah Campbell, Ryan Acre Jr. and Tanner James Burkett; and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by one son, James N. Brechbill Jr.; one sister, Patricia A. Horchner; and three brothers, Glenn C. Brechbill, Gregory L. Brechbill and Wayne R. Brechbill.

The Christian burial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. James Nirappel will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
