Chronic disease management workshop
The Washington County Living Well coalition is sponsoring a Living Well (Chronic Disease Self-Management) Workshop. The Living Well workshops help people with chronic diseases learn skills to manage their symptoms and get the most out of life. These workshops are designed for people who have a chronic disease such as diabetes, arthritis, depression, chronic lung disease, heart disease and others. The next workshop will begin on Tuesday, June 25, at Washington County Health Department. The classes are from 2 to 4:30 p.m., and will be held for six consecutive weeks. Free arthritis seminar
A free arthritis seminar will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Parkway Professional Conference Facility, 13 Western Maryland Parkway, lower level, Hagers-town. Dr. Ali Khawaja will educate participants on: arthritis and its symptoms; medications and exercises that help with pain management; the difference between normal and abnormal joints; and the different types of arthritis including common arthritis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Yoga Camp at Jala Yoga this July
Shepherdstown, W.Va. — Jala Yoga at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 West German Street, Shepherdstown, will offer “Little Yogis Camp” on Tuesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Camp for ages 4 to 7 will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m. and camp for ages 8 to 12 will be from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. The cost to attend all five weeks is $45; drop-in rate is $12 per class. There is a discount rate available for multiple children registering from the same family.
Little Yogis will learn yoga poses through stories and games, music and adventure. They will become more aware of their bodies and learn to relax and engage their minds through yoga, discussion, and fun. The classes will be taught by Christa Mastrangelo Joyce and Crystal Rainey.

Zumba class offered at St. Mark’s
BOONSBORO — A Zumba class will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church parish hall, 18311 Lappans Road, Boonsboro. July 4 fun run and kid’s dash
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town will host a July 4 fun run/walk and kid’s dash. The event is open to the community. Registration begins at 7:20 a.m.; devotions at 7:50 a.m.; fun run/walk begins at 8 a.m.; and kid’s dash is at 9 a.m. The event is at Currie Road and W.Va. 9 on the bike path.
