Arnold R. Draper, 89, of Wolfsville, Md., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home of Boonsboro, Md.
Born June 20, 1923, in Garfield, Md., he was the son of the late Edgar and Beulah (Harne) Draper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Mae (Willard) Draper, April 18, 1987.
He attended Forrest School, Garfield.
He was employed by Fairchild of Hagerstown for 38 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a life member of South Mountain Rod and Gun Club of Smithsburg and life member Blue Ridge Sportsman's Association of and a member of the American Legion Post 239 of Cascade.
He is survived by three sons, Junior R. Draper of Smithsburg, Arnold W. "Sonny" Draper of Garfield and Donald L. Draper of Hagerstown; two sisters, Eileen Willard of Sabillasville and Lois Fraley of Thurmont; one brother, Donnie Draper of Garfield; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Himes and three brothers, Gaither Draper, Charles Draper and Carroll Draper.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Md., with Rev A. Paul Harne officiating. Burial will be in Garfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
