Isaiah Laich, Dunkirk Road, wanted to raise money for Smile Train. Smile Train doesn't just fix cleft palates for underprivileged children in foreign countries, they also train doctors in those countries so that they can continue to help the children within their communities long after Smile Train has moved on. Isaiah, who attends Stoneleigh Elementary School, had an idea about what he could do to help this organization and these children. A delicious idea, in fact. A bake sale. So on Sunday, Sept. 28, his parents, Scott Laich and Sarah Van Tiem, gave him a choice: Go to the pet store and pick out a friend for his guinea pig or hold a bake sale to raise money for Smile Train.
