    According to the most recent numbers from the Centers for Disease Control, over 40,000 women died of breast cancer in 2007.  Each year the Komen Foundation, as well as organizers for Sista Strut, invite survivors of breast cancer, as well as the families of those who didn't make it, to flood the streets and spread awareness about preventing breast cancer.  But, do nurses think that enough women are conducting their own breast self-exams or even getting mammograms?  We took the First Step with Registered Nurse Sue Ostein from the Visiting Nurses Association.

There is no sure way to prevent breast cancer. But the best advocate a woman can have in the prevention of breast cancer is her partner.
