5. Scouting Report: Ravens vs. Steelers

RAVENS PASSING GAME: Much has been made of quarterback Joe Flacco's struggles on the road, but he's beaten the Steelers with late drives in his last regular season visit to Heinz Field. He's also coming off a four-touchdown (three passing, one rushing) performance against the Oakland Raiders where wide receiver Jacoby Jones and tight ends Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson returned to the game plan. The pressure will be on tackles Kelechi Osemele and Michael Oher to give Flacco time to throw downfield.

  7. Understanding sports hernias

That chronic groin pain sometimes felt by athletes may be called a sports hernia, but it's not really a hernia at all, according to Dr. Katherine G. Lamond, assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a surgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She said they are different from what's normally thought of as a hernia and sometimes tough to diagnose. But once doctors determine that this is the cause, there is effective treatment.

  11. Ravens news, notes and opinions

As we await a week filled with speculation about Ben Roethlisberger’s playing status for Sunday’s AFC North showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, it’s pretty remarkable that the latest chapter in this rivalry could be played without Roethlisberger, Hines Ward and Ray Lewis on the field. It will be the first time since the final game of the 2007 regular season when none of the three have been in the game. That day, Lewis was sidelined with hand and back injuries while Roethlisberger and Ward were rested for the playoffs. That being said, I think it would be foolish to count out Roethlisberger from this game until Steelers coach Mike Tomlin officially declares him out. I think we’ve all seen this movie before with Roethlisberger to jump to any conclusions.

The senior hit a 50-yard field goal as time expired to give the Gators a 31-28 victory over Hereford, their first win over the Bulls in four years. Also a linebacker, he had 21 tackles, including nine solo tackles in the season finale for the Gators (6-4). In seven games, Myers was 2-for-3 on field goals, also kicking a 37-yarder. 21. Ringworm infection takes on many forms

Despite its name, ringworm is not caused by a worm. Instead, it develops when fungus grows and multiplies on the skin. Dr. Dakara Rucker Wright, a dermatologist with the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group who practices at Kaiser Permanente's Towson Medical Center, said the disease, most common in children, is easy to treat.
