Bel Air woman makes a run at national CrossFit championship

On Thursday afternoon, 2,500 miles away from her home, family and gym, Bel Air's Karen McCune wrapped up a second-place finish at the CrossFit Games, that sport's national championship event which is being held in Carson, Calif. Through the final event in the Masters Women 44-49 Division, McCune, who started working out with CrossFit Bel Air two years ago, had amassed 642 points, good for second place overall and just 15 points behind the first-place winner, Kim Holway of CrossFit Reston, Va. The CrossFit Games consists of nine events, all of which are comprised of exercises that take place every day in CrossFit gyms, such as sprints, dead lifts and weighted sled drags. ...
