UConn grad James Barry will play rocker Carl Perkins in the national tour of "Million Dollar Quartet" when it plays Harttford's Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts Jan. 8 to 13.
Barry, a grad of UConn's graduate drama program, was also in the original Broadway cast to "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson."
Barry grew up in Mansfield and is a graduate of E.O. Smith High School. His Off-Broadway credits include "Sive," and "JB." He also performed in "The Full Monty" in Chicago, "Pump Boys and Donettes" in Kansas City and several productions with the Berkshire Theatre Festival such as "Tommy," "The Caretaker, "The Misanthrope," "The Einstein Project" and "A Dream Play."
Also in the touring company of the musical, directed by Eric Schaeffer, are David Elkins as Johnny Cash, Benjamin Goddard as Jerry Lee Lewis and Billy Woodward as Elvis Presley.
Also in the cast are Vince Nappo, Corey Kasier, Kelly Lamont and Billy Shaffer.
