Eliud Ngetich of Kenya ran the 10th fastest time on the Litchfield Hills 7.1-mile road race course, finishing in 33 minutes, 54 seconds Sunday afternoon.
Esther Erb of Blowing Rock, N.C. became the second American woman since 2003 to win the women's race in 40:28.
Ngetich, 19, took the lead from the start and never let up. Eric Chirchir of Kenya was second (35:14) and Demesse Tefera of Ethiopia was third (35:50).
Hirut Beyene was second (40:56) and Atalelech Asfaw was third (41:54). Both are from Ethiopia.
It was Erb's second trip to the race. She finished second in 2011 in 40:16.
