NEW BRITAIN - A team of students from New Britain High School will participate March 1 in a competition to represent Connecticut in the federal government's National Science Bowl.
The national competition is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy's office of science, and details are at http://science.energy.gov/wdts/nsb/. The goal is to interest young people in pursuing careers in math and science.
The team that wins the March 1 regional competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete im the National Science Bowl in late April.
Also in the competition will be Farmington, Glastonbury, Greenwich, Fitch, Hamden, Lyme-Old Lyme, Joel Barlow, Newtown and Conard high schools, along with Loomis Chaffee School and the Woodstock Academy.
The March 1 contest is at Laurel Hall in Storrs.
