MIDDLEBURY — The principal of the Waterbury Adult Continuing Education program is on paid leave after his arrest last week on drunken driving charges, officials said.
Antonio Musto has been with the Waterbury School district since 1997, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen M. Ouellette said.
Musto was seen driving erratically on Route 64 in Middlebury on Feb. 5, prompting calls to 911, police said. He turned onto Whittemore Road where police pulled him over.
Police say Musto, 49, failed a field sobriety tests and his breath smelled of alcohol. He was charged with driving under the influence.
Musto refused to take a breath test at the Middlebury Police Department, police said. He was released on a promise to appear Feb. 19 at Superior Court in Waterbury.
