“Reading the Ruins: Paintings by Nathan Lewis” will run from Saturday, Sept. 1, to Saturday, Sept. 29 at A-Space Gallery at West Cove Studio, 30 Elm St. in West Haven. White of Southington is the artist of the month at The Prospect Public Library, 17 Center St. in Prospect. “Water Water Everywhere” will be up from Saturday, Sept. 1, to Saturday, Sept. 29. The Artist View Gallery and Learning Center at 25 Boston Post Road in Madison presents the New England landscapes and still life paintings of Westbrook artist Beverly Schirmeier for the month of September. The opening day reception is Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Madison Art Society artists for the months of September and October are Jill Beecher Matthew of Lyme and Sherry Marlowe of Madison. Their work will be on display at Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Road.
