The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department arrested its third boater of the weekend for operating while intoxicated early Sunday.

At 2:15 a.m. Sunday, the department's Marine Division was on patrol on Scott Lake in Arlington Township. Deputies made contact with a 30-year-old man from Lockport, Ill., who was operating a 1993 25-foot Crest pontoon boat with five additional passengers. Deputies found the operator to be under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level of .12. The man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and is being held at the Van Buren County Jail pending arraignment.

The boat and passengers were taken safely to a dock.

On Friday, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department Marine Division arrested two boaters for operating while intoxicated on separate lakes. Those arrests occurred at 7 p.m. at Scott Lake and at 11:15 p.m. at Gravel Lake.

All three investigations have been turned over to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office.
