The Lauren Conrad Collection may not be hot everywhere, but Emmy can't get enough.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has hired the tube's most infamous reality star to design a one-of-a-kind gown for the trophy girls handing out statuettes at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards telecast. In making the announcement, the award show's executive producer, Ken Ehrlich, said enlisting "a celebrity designer" to craft an exclusive look was a first.

"I am so excited that the academy has asked me to design a dress for this year's Emmy Awards," Conrad said. "I will be doing a red carpet look that still reflects the simple classic design of the Lauren Conrad Collection, but with a black-tie twist."

Not only that, "The Hills" star may even appear during the ceremony as a presenter.

The Emmy gown will not be part of the Lauren Conrad Collection or available for purchase.

The Emmys air Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. The fourth season of the " The Hills" returns Sept. 18.
