Actress Zooey Deschanel is an indie film favorite, with starring roles in "All the Real Girls," "Eulogy" and "Winter Passing." Her more mainstream film credits include "Almost Famous," "Elf" and "Yes Man."

Not only does Deschanel sing for some of her movie and TV roles ("Elf," "Once Upon a Mattress"), she also performs in the indie-pop duo She & Him. M. Ward is the other half of the band.

In 2008, Deschanel became engaged to Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. Her sister, Emily Deschanel, is the star of TV's "Bones."
