  3. Spinetti, Actor From Three Beatles Films Dies

    <span style="font-size: small;">Welsh-born Tony Award-winning comic actor Victor Spinetti, perhaps best known for appearing in three Beatles films, died of cancer at a hospice in Monmouth, England, his agent confirmed. He was 82. Spinetti won a 1965 Tony Award for best supporting or featured actor in Oh, What a Lovely War, but was widely known for his roles as a frustrated television director in 1964&rsquo;s A Hard Day&rsquo;s Night, a mad scientist in 1965&rsquo;sHelp!, and an army sergeant in the 1967 television movie Magical Mystery Tour. Spinetti also co-wrote The John Lennon Play: In His Own Write, which opened in June 1968 in London.</span>
