Stanley Chase, Producer of 'Threepenny Opera,' Dies at 87

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Producer Stanley Chase died Oct. 7 in Santa Monica at the age of 87. A native of New York City, Chase's career spanned theater, television and film, beginning as a script analyst at CBS. Chase went on to produce the Kurt Weill-Bertold Brecht off-Broadway musical "The Threepenny Opera," and other stage productions including "A Moon for the Misbegotten," "The Cave Dwellers" and "Free and Easy."
