Blue Man Group is a collection of blue-skinned, latex-capped, black-clothed performers who appear in sets of three in venues around the world. No words are spoken, but taped rock music and interaction with the audience are mainstays. On-stage instruments are usually percussion, and some feature PVC piping.
The venture was started by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink and Matt Goldman in the 1980s in New York City. The organization currently has permanent set-ups in New York, Chicago, Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston, Tokyo, Berlin and Oberhausen, Germany.
The group achieved wider fame after appearing in a series of Intel commercials. Other TV appearances include "The Drew Carey Show," "Live With Regis and Kelly," "The Tonight Show," "Scrubs" and "Las Vegas."
