The Ravens' 23-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime last week was TV's top Twitter event, according to the Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings.
The Ravens game generated 702,000 event-related tweets in the U.S. that were seen by a unique audience of 5.8 million people.
By comparison, "Empire," the hit Fox drama starring Terrence Howard, generated 634,000 telecast-related tweets seen by a unique audience of 5.8 million persons. It was the most tweeted non-sports event of the week.
Nielsen says 18,000 Tweets about the Ravens game were sent at 11:49 p.m. (EST) after Justin Tucker kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime.
