  1. 'Dancing with the Stars' recap: Maria Menounos owns 'Classical' night

It's classical night, which means a whole lot of songs I'll recognize but not know the name of. Oh, look, it's an exaggeratedly expressive violinist and some chicks in Marie Antoinette garb. Never change, DWTS, never change. DUDES IN BREECHES AND NECKCLOTHS! Excuse me while I make up historical romance novel cover scenarios for each of these couples. Ooh, that was Joshua Bell? If you've never read <a href=&quot;http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/04/AR2007040401721.html" target="_blank">Gene Weingarten's excellent Pulitzer-prize winning essay "The Fiddler in the Subway"</a> go do so now, and come back to this recap when you're finished.

  3. Video: Downton Arby's: Where is the Dowager Fry-Cook?

What if Downton Abbey was set in a fast-food restaurant, but kind of like with the same characters. And what if that guy from &quot;Mad About You" and "Spin City" was in it?

What if Downton Abbey was set in a fast-food restaurant, but kind of like with the same characters. And what if that guy from "Mad About You" and "Spin City" was in it? But there's no Dowager Countess character -- I don't think - that wanders pointlessly...

  5. Mostly Main Street: Everyone becomes Irish on St. Patrick's Day at The Phoenix

Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, right? I'll be making corned beef in my slow cooker this weekend, and my husband Tom has been busy deciding between Bushmill's and Jameson for his celebration. If you are in search of a beer to go with your corned...

  7. Razing the JFX, lowering O's expectations

The Orioles have new orange and black banners along Russell Street and Pratt Street, and aren't they pretty, and aren't they grand, and shouldn't we be grateful? The banners proclaim &quot;20 Years," and we're all supposed to understand and appreciate what that means &mdash; two decades since the fabulous, taxpayer-funded Oriole Park opened at Camden Yards. But, who cares? It's been nearly 30 years since the Orioles were in a World Series, 14-soon-15 since they had a winning season. In the Angelos era of Baltimore baseball, pessimism springs eternal in the human breast.

  16. 'Downton Abbey' returns, and it's as good or better than last year

&quot;Downton Abbey," one of last season's big winners at the Emmy Awards, starts up again Sunday night on PBS. In a television season not blessed with much to rave about so far, let the hoopla be heard. This year's "Downton Abbey" is at least as good as last year's. Maybe better.
