Ann Kemp Thomas, volunteer

Ann Kemp Thomas, a homemaker who was a founder of Beautiful Baltimore, died of heart failure May 28 at Keswick Multi-Care Center. She was 84 and lived in Roland Park.

Born Ann Kemp in Baltimore and raised in Homeland, she was the daughter of Dr. Jarold Elting Kemp, a Johns Hopkins Hospital dermatologist, and Ann Stewart Kemp, a homemaker. She was a 1947 Girls' Latin School graduate.

In 1949, she married John B. Thomas III, who owned the old Thomas & Thompson drugstore at the southeast corner of Baltimore and Light streets.

Mrs. Thomas was a founder of the Woodland Garden Club and was a past president of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland. She worked with former...
