1. Ravens hope to follow historical trend and find value with 32nd selection

Three months after winning their first Super Bowl in 1983, the Washington Redskins received another reward. With the 28th and final selection in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft, and one pick after the Miami Dolphins grabbed a strong-armed quarterback from Pittsburgh named Dan Marino, the Redskins settled on an undersized but lightning-quick cornerback out of Texas A&M-Kingsville.

5. Court drama aplenty in Harford girls basketball

Coming back to work last week after my year-ending vacation meant jumping right back into the action or routine that is part of this job. A week ago, I made the short trip from the office over to John Carroll, where the Patriot wrestlers were hosting...

7. Watch this now: Frank Ocean, 'Acura Integurl'

Frank Ocean's soon-to-be-rereleased album, Nostalgia, Ultra., is a grower. When I first heard it in March, it seemed like a better-than-average debut a few rare flashes of brilliance. But I wasn't bowled over. For every slick no-brainer ("Novacane," "Songs For Women"), there was a strange, off-putting decision lurking ("Strawberry Swing" samples Coldplay; "American Wedding" inexpicably reinterprets the Eagles' "Hotel California"). But the more time spent with Nostalgia, the more likeable Ocean becomes as a singer, and more importantly, a storyteller. Another encouraging sign: he hasn't slowed down in releasing new material.

16. ODU's Jones is all about hoops, not the hoopla

The Virginian-Pilot
It is a proudly wonky place, American University. The private school in Washington built a marketing campaign around the term, infusing "wonk" with cool, turning a word with a nerdy connotation into a badge of honor for life's delvers and grinders --...

20. Review: Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' is robotic with heart

For a sense of the random oddities that dot Daft Punk's strange, funky, cosmic new album, "Random Access Memories," consider a partial discography of the musicians employed by the two Frenchmen in service of its creation.
