  1. 'Le Havre,' Papa Roach and Conrad Tao's 'Five Beethovens'

    <strong>"Le Havre":</strong> This quixotic fable follows the unlikely and uplifting journey of a young African boy who arrives by cargo ship in the port city of the title and the grizzled shoe shiner who takes him in. The Los Angeles Times' Kenneth Turan wrote of the film and its director: "Buster Keaton isn't dead, he's alive and well in Finland, where under a new identity he pursues his own particular brand of deadpan absurdism to wonderful effect. If the name Aki Kaurism&auml;ki doesn't mean anything to you, it should, and 'Le Havre' may be the film to make it happen." In French with subtitles, it screens at 7 p.m. at the Aventura Cultural Arts Center (3385 NE 188th St.). A post-film discussion will be hosted by local cineaste Shelly Isaacs. Tickets: $10.     Escape spring break, Ultra Music Festival and all its surrounding folly by attending a concert by the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida and Symphony of the Americas. The groups will collaborate for shows at the Broward Center 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, and at the chorus' Sunshine Cathedral 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The last two are sold-out, but tickets for the Broward Center performances were available at presstime, and cost $25-$75 plus fees at BrowardCenter.org.
