  1. Cheap Trick to revisit 'At Budokan' at the El Rey on April 30

How best to celebrate the 35th anniversary of a beloved live album? By re-creating it onstage, of course.
How best to celebrate the 35th anniversary of a beloved live album? By re-creating it onstage, of course. That's the approach being taken by Cheap Trick, which announced Thursday that it plans to play "Cheap Trick at Budokan," the power-pop veterans'...

  3. Ritmos globales en el Transatlantic Festival

No importa el idioma. Lo que importa es el ritmo. La música global, o world, seduce con sus sonidos más allá de fronteras y llega al sur de Florida para quedarse.

  5. Robert Redford's 'new territory' with 'Captain America' sequel

Though Robert Redford may be the very platonic ideal of a movie star -- a matinee idol from films such as "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "The Sting," "The Way We Were," "The Electric Horseman" and "Out of Africa" -- he has of late been involved with smaller-scale, socially conscious dramas. So many were surprised last week by the news that Redford would be appearing in the Marvel Studios comic-book action sequel "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as a senior leader in the secret government agency of S.H.I.E.L.D.

  7. Steal his movie and Simon Klose will thank you

AUSTIN, Texas — Simon Klose would like you to steal his movie. Stream it, download it, share it with someone in Croatia or Brazil and remix it with videos of kittens playing patty-cake, if that's your kind of thing.

  9. Review: 'Gimme the Loot' paints the town red

"Gimme the Loot" shouldn't be as appealing and exuberant as it is, it really shouldn't.
"Gimme the Loot" shouldn't be as appealing and exuberant as it is, it really shouldn't. It's set in the Bronx, the grittiest of New York City boroughs. Its larcenous teenage protagonists are introduced stealing spray paint from a hardware store; the...

  19. 'Gimme the Loot' director says film 'hit the jackpot'

With its loose, freewheeling style, the unassuming "Gimme the Loot" has already led something of a charmed life. The film picked up the grand jury prize when it premiered at the South by Southwest film festival last year, going on to play the prestigious New Directors/New Films series in New York and be an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. It was then nominated for two Spirit Awards, earning writer-director Adam Leon the "Someone to Watch" award.
This post has been corrected. See below for details.

  21. Butler: 'Olympus Has Fallen' is really a tale of 'redemption'

If you head out to see the Gerard Butler action movie “Olympus Has Fallen” this weekend, you’re probably going for the pyrotechnics: The White House is blown to smithereens, the Washington Monument dramatically implodes, many bad guys die violently.

  23. Building a bigger Burger Records at the Burgerama festival

At around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sean Bohrman of Burger Records picked up the phone in his label's office and pleaded for mercy. “Can you call me back in a couple hours?” he asked a reporter. “We just drove 20 hours straight from Texas after South by Southwest. We got home like an hour ago and haven't eaten anything, and honestly we're kind of delirious.”
