7. Yes Revolving Door Of Members Spins Again

The Yes camp has decided to axe vocalist Benoir David, the former Yes tribute band Closer to the Edgesinger who stepped in to replace Jon Anderson while the classic Yes frontman was recovering from a respiratory ailment. Bassist Chris Squire told Rolling Stone David had started to “get a little wobbly onstage” during last year’s co-headlining tour with Styx. So David is out and Jon Davison, lead singer of Tennessee-based progressive rock band Glass Hammer is in. Said Squire, “Like Jon Anderson, he’s a tenor, but he has a different pitch to his voice. We just returned from our Pacific Rim tour and he did a fantastic job, so everything is happy again in the Yes realm.”

  17. Styx Stays Away From Politics.

Sticks and stones may break bones and sometimes words do hurt people, especially when they are perceived as threats against the President of the United States. By now everyone knows Ted Nugent spewed some threatening words at President Barack Obama and other Democrats at the National Rifle Association convention last week that earned him a chat with the Secret Service, but Styx guitarist/singer James Young says politics will not come up in conversation when Styx, Nugent and REO Speedwagon kick off their tour together on May 1 in Hidalgo, TX. Young told Billboard, “You know, I don’t see any point in that, actually. I mean, Ted’s made his points very clear. And this is not about politics.”
