7. Rush Leads In Hall Of Fame Induction Poll

Canadian progressive rock giants Rush currently enjoy a comfortable lead in the public poll for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, so far earning just over 24 percent of all votes cast. Deep Purple follows with a tick over 17 percent and Heart is in third place with 12.5 percent. However the public poll is pretty much symbolic as it counts as just one voice among the 600 panelists of music industry folks who’ll decide who makes the class of 2013.

The Stones now face a fine of over $300,000 for playing rock and roll – and liking it too much.

  19. Pasadena Playhouse: Mike Stoller and wife gave crucial $1 million

If the Pasadena Playhouse had decided to adopt a theme song when a dire economy and long-standing debts forced it to cease operations for most of 2010 while it tried to claw its way back to solvency, “Stand by Me,” the 1961 pop-soul classic sung by Ben E. King, would have fit the situation precisely.
