  5. Steven Tyler's national anthem: Worst ever?

Steven Tyler turned in a beautiful rendition of the national anthem before Sunday's AFC Championship between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens -- that's &quot;beautiful," the word that lost all meaning last year when Tyler used it to describe pretty much every "American Idol" performance, good or bad.

  7. U2 mega-fans gear up for Baltimore's biggest show of the year

Don't try to convince Jason Siemer that <a href=&quot;http://findlocal.baltimoresun.com/listings/u2-in-baltimore">Wednesday's U2 concert</a> is only a rock show. He knows better.
Don't try to convince Jason Siemer that Wednesday's U2 concert is only a rock show. He knows better. "For me, U2 is about a spiritual connection," says Siemer, 36, who runs a video production company out of his Locust Point home. "I literally cry at...

  13. Lifelong service to pro football should land Modell spot in Hall

NEW ORLEANS -- If Ravens owner Art Modell is not selected for Hall of Fame induction on Saturday, it would be an affront to the man, the game and the NFL. He deserves to be enshrined as much as any player or other administrator/owner, including Tex...

  17. Dylan Awarded Presidential Medal Of Freedom

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Singer/songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Bob Dylan received yet another honor when President Barack Obama presented him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation&rsquo;s highest civilian honor. The Medal of Freedom is presented to individuals who have contributed to the security of national interest of the country, world peace or to &ldquo;cultural and other significant endeavors,&rdquo; according to the White House. President Obama said Dylan helped redefine &ldquo;not just what music sounded like, but the message it carried and how it made people feel,&rdquo; adding that he had &ldquo;considerable influence on the civil rights movement of the 1960s and has had significant impact on American culture over the past five decades.&rdquo;</span>

  19. Lindsey Buckingham performs at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Seems like we've been getting a lot of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members in the area lately. We've got no complaints about that. Wednesday, we get to see Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, performing an intimate one-man show. His latest mission is to express more with less, in this case just guitar and vocals, which he has admitted to be a bit out of his comfort zone (and therefore, exciting). He'll play cuts from his latest album <em>Seeds We Sow</em>, but he'll also play the mega-hits. <strong></strong>

  21. Flea flicks some energy into a mild Red Hot Chili Peppers' show

Whatever share of proceeds the Red Hot Chili Peppers award Flea, they should double the amount. Immediately. Monday at a packed Allstate Arena, the bassist stood as the biggest reason the veteran rock band didn't register as a nostalgia act. For a group fresh off a hiatus&mdash;and as one that maintains a reputation for high-energy shows&mdash;a majority of the 110-minute set proved overly content and tired. The concert certainly didn't justify a headlining slot at this year's Lollapalooza festival, a position the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will fill in August.

  23. Slash's unfinished business

There are things that Slash just doesn't want to talk about. And the timing was definitely not right a few weeks ago as the guitarist was preparing for a trip to Cleveland for his induction with Guns N' Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "I don't...
