Happy 12/12/12! Enjoy the quirky numerical day while it lasts because it won't happen again for another hundred years. And in a lunch time update, Paul McCartney is reportedly fililng in for Kurt Cobain as Nirvania reunites for tonight's huge Hurricane Sandy benefit concert.

  9. 'The Voice' recap, Competition is getting fiercer

Spots are getting scant on the teams of NBC's "The Voice" so the coaches are getting pickier and pickier (and sassier and sassier) and competition's getting fierce.

What plays well in a stadium doesn't always work so well on TV. But if the in-person thumbs-up reviews out of London Friday were accurate, the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics were a winner on both fronts. By and large, the version shown for...

  19. Q&A: Rising country star Hunter Hayes

When Hunter Hayes, the 20-year-old sensation just nominated as the Academy of Country Music's Best New Artist, has a day to himself, the first thing he does is find a music store. "I'm obsessed with gear," Hayes said recently on the phone. Look at the liner notes of his 2011 self-titled album and it's clear to see why: Hayes can play everything in the store. On the album, the self-taught Hayes plays 22 instruments, including the clavinet (an electronic keyboard) and the accordion. After opening for Taylor Swift last summer, Hayes hit the road for his own headlining venture, the Most Wanted Tour, which stops by the Recher Theatre for a sold-out show tonight. We spoke to Hayes about Swift, love songs and more.

  21. Grammys 2012: Stay home if you're not Adele

Welcome to the Adele show. Just as she dominated radio this past year, Adele will likely walk away with a handful of shiny gramophones on Sunday night (8 p.m., WJZ/CBS). But this is show business - there are no guarantees (except that host LL Cool J will make us cringe at least 12 times). There will be performances, of course - Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and even Adele, taking a stage for the first time since vocal cord surgery. And then there are the awards. Check out our breakdown of the four major categories, including predictions on who should and will win.
