1. How black is black enough?

I suddenly find myself concerned about my blackness.
I suddenly find myself concerned about my blackness. It had never occurred to me to worry about it before. Then came the incident last month on ESPN's "First Take" program that initially got commentator Rob Parker suspended and then, last week, fired...

7. Grammys 2012: Stay home if you're not Adele

Welcome to the Adele show. Just as she dominated radio this past year, Adele will likely walk away with a handful of shiny gramophones on Sunday night (8 p.m., WJZ/CBS). But this is show business - there are no guarantees (except that host LL Cool J will make us cringe at least 12 times). There will be performances, of course - Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and even Adele, taking a stage for the first time since vocal cord surgery. And then there are the awards. Check out our breakdown of the four major categories, including predictions on who should and will win.

9. Grammy nominations: Put your money on Adele

Voicing disappointment over Grammy nominations is similar to complaining to your friends at recess that your 70-year-old teacher just "doesn't get it." In other words, it's pointless, other than feeling slightly better that you made the injustice known to people who can't do a thing about it.

11. 'The X-Factor' recap: Praise a higher power, it's the last night of auditions

[Ed. note: No running diary this time. I was judging a Battle of the Bands for WPOC in Hanover aka doing my best Simon Cowell impression, so I didn't get home until 8:40 p.m. I watched a DVR-ed version. The obvious good news of the night is the auditiions are over. The bad news is Boot Camp is next and that just sounds weird. On to the auditions (the good/interesting ones, at least):]
