  5. Will Justin Bieber join girlfriend Selena Gomez at the Maryland State Fair?

    Will they or won't they?
Will they or won't they? It's a question that has surrounded Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez — the pre-teen equivalent of Brangelina — for more than a year now. Will they come out as an official couple? Yes. Will they go on vacation together...

  7. Review: Selena Gomez and the Scene at the Maryland State Fair Aug. 26

The most lively moment of Selena Gomez and the Scene's 80-minute set Friday night came toward the end of its second half. Gomez, the "Wizards of Waverly" star and girlfriend of Justin Bieber, recreated her viral hit, <strong><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MVlS5Uj8Xs" target="_blank">a backstage clip</a></strong> of her rapping along to Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass." She does a fine rendition, with enough teen swagger to be cute and mischievous at the same time. While the "He might sell coke" line was edited from the video &mdash; this is a Disney star, after all &mdash; Gomez kept it in Friday.

  9. MTV Video Music Awards 2011: Stray thoughts and musings

When we look back at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, we will remember two things: 1) This Jessie J thing is not going to happen, America, but it wasn't for lack of effort, and 2) Beyonce and Jay-Z are having a baby. For a two-and-a-half hour show, you'd think there'd be more memories, but this year's event lacked the electricity it somehow musters up each year. The water coolers are extra quiet this morning.

  15. 'The X-Factor' recap: Can the second episode outdo the premiere?

<strong>THE SKINNY: </strong>Have we been had? "The X-Factor" followed up a seriously stellar debut with a two-hour mess of talentless singers and worse. The supporters of the first episode should be worried. Was Thursday night the real "X-Factor" or just a momentary bump in the road? A weak second episode paired with disappointing opening ratings is a situation Simon Cowell must not have anticipated. And yet, here we are.

  17. New 'Three Musketeers': Making da mess of Dumas

The 19th-century French novelist Alexandre Dumas might be puzzled if he could somehow see the latest movie adaptation of <strong>"The Three Musketeers,"</strong> but any living soul who has seen the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise will recognize that this is an overly familiar 3-D swashbuckler that's as predictable as the swords that periodically threaten to poke your eyes.
