Fleetwood Mac’s upcoming tour will be without original member Christine McVie, who retired in 1998, and Mick Fleetwood has revealed there’s no way he can get her to change her mind. “I’ve had to agree to stop asking her,” he told the Telegraph. Mick also reflected on the band’s classic album Rumours, which was recorded 35 years ago. “It’s this mutant thing with a life of its own,” he says. As for why the album seems timeless, Mick says, “It doesn’t sound dated because there’s no weird echoes or plastic drums. A lot of our contemporaries were doing funny things in the studio that spoils stuff from that period. Rumours could have been made yesterday.” Fleetwood Mac’s tour kicks off April 4th in Columbus, OH.
