Music Box: Celebrate 35th anniversary of New Orleans' own Dirty Dozen Brass Band at Rams Head On Stage

It's a big week for Louisiana music in Annapolis beginning Thursday when The Dirty Dozen Brass Band comes with horns a wailin' Crescent City style (8 p.m.).

The band took the New Orleans brass band tradition and added contemporary rhythms of cool jazz and funk. The legendary Danny Barker influenced a group of players at a youth program at a local church. Early incarnations played locally in New Orleans as the Hurricane Brass Band and the Tornado Brass Band.
