  3. 'The Voice' recap: Team Cee Lo and Team Adam face instant eliminations

Another week, another round of instant, heartbreaking eliminations on “The Voice.” This time, Teams Adam and Cee Lo are on the chopping block, and after Tuesday’s live eliminations (and tonight’s instant cuts courtesy of the merciless coaches), each time will be skinnied down to two each.

  9. 'The Voice' recap: Instant eliminations

"The Voice" is shaking things up a little bit for the audience. Tonight, contestants were subjected to instant eliminations, and two solid shocks ensued … after blind auditions, battle rounds and the first live culling of team members, four artists remain on each of the coaches’ teams — but not for long.

  11. 'The Voice' recap: Is the show making up the rules as it goes?

If Monday's “The Voice” was a night of shock but little awe, Tuesday night was a night of crappy filler and little justification.

  13. 'The Voice' recap: Episode 4

Man, those judges on “The Voice” did some major work tonight, scooping up more talented hopefuls as we endured (enjoyed?) another week of blind auditions. I seem to have forgotten that this show is a marathon, not a sprint – but we’re so close to finishing the first stretch of the race.

  15. Grammys 2012: Stay home if you're not Adele

Welcome to the Adele show. Just as she dominated radio this past year, Adele will likely walk away with a handful of shiny gramophones on Sunday night (8 p.m., WJZ/CBS). But this is show business - there are no guarantees (except that host LL Cool J will make us cringe at least 12 times). There will be performances, of course - Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and even Adele, taking a stage for the first time since vocal cord surgery. And then there are the awards. Check out our breakdown of the four major categories, including predictions on who should and will win.

  17. 'The Voice' recap: Episode 2

Phew! Two hours of “The Voice” is a lot to process. The NBC show was heavy on the tug-at-your-heartstrings contestant backstories tonight, which can make for some intense emotional weight-lifting. But we all survived, and slowly but surely, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton are building up their teams.

  19. Staff Q&A: Which singer should have a permanent gig of singing the national anthem at sporting events?

If resurrecting Jimi Hendrix proves impossible, I'm going with the Dixie Chicks, who taught America that criticizing the president and singing a truly beautiful version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" are not mutually exclusive acts.

  21. 'American Idol' recap: Houston auditions

Tonight's episode kicked off with a special greeting from Commander Burbank at the space station, "currently flying 250 miles above the earth." The video quality's so crisp and sharp for something so far away. Ain't technology grand?

  23. Adele, Hudson and the energy of archetype elevate Grammy telecast

I haven't watched a Grammy telecast all the way through in quite awhile. As much as I love the great TV-music moments when they happen, there haven't been enough of them lately to keep me tuned in when all the wretched excess, bizarre productions and self-absorbed, pop-star silliness inevitably arrived. Furthermore, I always felt the main reviewing rightfully belonged to the pop music critics at the paper on Grammy night.
